Remind me to avoid the bunny slope...

If I'm gonna check out while skiing, I'd want it to be this way...

What a shame...so sad.

Our entire family skis at Tremblant and the bunny slopes are too slow for even our 7 year old daughter.

I don't understand how it might have happened but expect that as a novice, she wasn't wearing a helmet and should have been.

2-3 people seem to die every year at Tremblant, usually so-called experts who are blazing down near the treeline and catch an edge. Sad for all.

Its all in how you fall boyz. Ive biffed 'er off intermediate cliffs, hit trees at speed, and broken more skis than most people will ever own. My worst injury so far was to lose every single one of my toenails (feet impacted the front of my boots so hard). Having said that a great friend of mine who has been Heli skiing most of his life was cruising down a moderate run on his board and sat down on a mogul a little to hard. I mean he literally sat down to take a break as he was sliding. He bumped his tailbone and felt a twinge. We flew him off the mountain in a helicopter, and rushed him to hospital. It looked like he was going to be a paraplegic, but ended up in full leg braces and crutches with a colostomy bag. This was 1-3 mph accident. Ive seen it happen now, so can wrap my head around how someone can die in the most minor of accidents.

That's a sad sad story. I couldn't imagine losing my wife. I wouldn't know what to do. Poor Liam and their 2 boys. RIP Natasha.

Very sad story, one of my daughter's fav movies is the Parent Trap remake she did, I've seen it a million times. I agree with all you guys but I'd still like to know more, they're not releasing all the details and I wonder why. I suspect she hit the back of her head on the ground hard and the subsequent swelling later got her. I found it interesting that they said the original paramedics that were sent to the scene never saw her. They said she was fine and they told them to leave without ever examining her. Hmmmm.

I agree...very sad story but if it is true that they didn't see her, usually they'd need someone to sign off on it so that they could leave. It was the fact that she didn't go to the hospital and the hematoma caused the damage to the brain. The pressure could be relieved without surgery because it was under the skull which obviously doesn't expand.

Yep. Just scary how vulnerable the human body can be. She feel, bumped her head, felt fine so there was no reason to see the paramedics and went on doing what she was doing. Hours later she's dead. Scary. I expected helmets to be manditory when skiing very soon.
