I washed my car yesterday and then drove it shortly afterwards. Came to a light and sat there for about at least 5 minutes with my foot on the brake. Heard a chime and noticed my ESP/BAS was lit in the EVIC. I have no idea why it came on. Anybody have this happen before? I drove the car for a few minutes more and then came to a stop. I left the car turned off for about a minute and then restarted it. The ESP/BAS light stayed off and didn't come back on. I guess if this continues to happen I'll take it to the dealer.

Try the key dance thingy because a lot of stuff can cause that light to go off...the ABS control module has detected a malfunction and has disabled ESP/BAS. For eg, a steering column malfunction can cause it and set off the ABS light because the PCM doesn't see the steering angle sensor. You'll find out more by checking the historical codes as well.

I hook-up the pred later today and see if there's any stored codes.

Let us know what comes up...it's freezing out there today though lol..
I let ya know...I think it was something with the brakes though. I sat at the light with my foot on the brake for a looong time. Maybe the pedal went down alittle bit. Hey...I also took some new pics of my ride that I don't think you saw. Go back to that thread and check em out.

I doubt you will find any codes in the ODBII, it stores the ABS codes in a different place that cant be read with a ODBII scanner, I went thru this with my Jeep.
You need a different type of code reader, dont ask me which I seriosuly forgot.

There has been quite a few cases of sitting in the car for 5-10 min. and it shutting off, for A ok.
Ill look for it on the other forum.

It hasn't come back again. I'm thinkin' my pedal might've went down alittle while holding on the brake at the light for soo long...might've caused it.
