Figured I would throw this up as a sticky. There is some great info in these three links that I have used as well as many others.

Autopia and Meguiars are two of my favorite sites to go for help with detailing tricks. The Meguiars forums are a great place to ask questions or search for topics. The guys over there are awesome and very helpful.

Enjoy, and if you have any others, throw them up here!

Ok can I have the cliff note version. I have adhd and cant read all that. I have some lite swirl mark scratches that show up with the sunlite is just right. How can I get them out with using an electrical equipment that could hurt me and my baby?

You could probably do it without anything other than some elbow grease. Get some Meguiars ScratchX, and a good sealer/wax to follow it up with.

Work the scratchx as instructed, you will notice it start to go away, then seal and wax, and your all done.

Otherwise, with a machine, it's a bit easier, and the product is a bit different. Mequiars #80 or #83 cut should do the trick, followed by sealer/wax again.

Starter kit has everything ,then add from there.

*NOTE*Matte finish on your decals requires special treatment. The wrong polish, wax or sealant could diminish the matte look.

Cool links, thanks...
After about 15 minutes, though, I lost patience looking for info. on how to quickly and efficently clean & polish my wheels.

I'd like to get the swirl marks out of the face of the spokes (Magnum SRT 5-spoke 20's) and end up with a high polish finish (maybe higher than when they were new) but a couple of products I've tried just don't seem to help.

Anyone had to address this problem? Do I need to buy a little electric buffer/polisher thing?

our factory wheels are clearcoated after the polishing is done, so treat it just like you would the paint. Swirl/Scratch remover, sealant, wax.

Thats the safest way to do it.
