Pat, when do you think you will be back to the track??

it looks like there is no way to be on a clock until next season....gotta spend money i don't have on Cam, Lifters, Push Rods and some SERIOUS mods to my stock oil pan, that right there is over a grand and that doesn't include my engine bill and then it all has to be re-installed and tuned again with the changes....

but it will be a hell of a difference from the old rig to the new rig.....the new converter alone in the old setup it would have gained about .2X all day long....

thanks to MANY, my new combo and nitrous setup, "RAGE" will be built to impress and run to please......

Send me piktars of oil pan bish!

I'm just curious as hell.

i spoke to brian about what you told me to do and it was agreed that it SHOULD be done...

I was asking about removing the AWD Shaft hole in the pan and creating oil TRAP baffles to keep the oil in the front sump area, what are your thoughts on removing the hole to gain oil volume or just TOO risky with that kinda pan mod?

I've also been working with a guy in Indiana that I met in Memphis. When we spoke at Memphis he too was asking about the oiling and oil control as he was about to install yet his third forged bottom end engine. I gave him some helpful info about oil pumps, oil filter relocation and pan modifications for better oil control. Well he got the right pump but didn't do a filter relocation or any pan mods. Needless to say after junking this third engine, he gives me a call. We talk a bit and he's asking about a Cadillac pan that he thinks will work on the TBSS that the Hi-Po Caddy guys are having no issues with. He works for a dealership (white collar) and says he can get the pan and send it back for nothing if it doesn't. I told him to call me back when he found out if the pan would fit or not.

A few weeks later he calls to tell me the pan won't work but had been talking a guy over and Stef's about making one from scratch or modifying the existing pan. He wanted to know if it would be ok if he--guy from Stef's--called me about the mods needed........naturally I told him "sure, no problem". The following day the guy from Stef's calls--can't remember his name--and we conversed for a bit. I thought I had told you everything I had explained to him but apparently not. Sorry about that.

Yes, remove the tube for added oil capacity. There needs to be one of two things installed. 1) either add a hinged one way door to keep the oil from running backwards up the slope or 2) install a gated box for the pickup tube to sit in.

In case I didn't mention it, the tray (not the windage tray on the block) that bolts inside the oil pan needs to fit a lot tighter to the pans inside walls. The outer edge is rolled up and merely flattening this out some, a nice fit is achieved. You may have to drill a few holes in this tray for oil return. You're trying to keep oil where it should be and that is around the pick up but you also have to provide a good oil return.

thanks brother.....PLEASE if a pan surfaces that looks great then do please post up about it.....i will more than likely just modify mine.....

here or on TBSSO.com can you give me a number you would charge me to modify a pan to your satisfaction....i would be glad to pay you to do what is KNOWN to be needed and KNOWN to work with a 10.2X TBSS......seems like a WIN WIN to me brother.....for me it is the GUESS WORK part that i do not like, easier to just do it right with no GUESS WORK....

Thanks Again Billy,

Pat
