That's right. On my way home today, after picking up my Charger from stereo equipment install, my transmission decided she was done. Couldn't even get up a hill, all she did was slip!!! So that's when this happened......

I hope I never see that site again!!!! This only happened after 3500 miles on my 426. I knew it was gonna happen eventually, but I thought I could at least make it til next year when I do my supercharger. Maybe this 426 I got from PPP is more stout than I thought!!!! :)
ANYWAY!! I now need a built transmission for my sled. Who's gonna help me?? Builder Bill?? BMC Performance?? Southern HotRod?? What options do I have?? Can my stock one be upgraded and rebuilt?? I know 2 things about tranny work.....jack, and shit!!!! Who can help me here, and what are my options???!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

That's a bummer, Chase.
But it'll be better when done and she still looks pretty on a flatbed!

LOL, thanks Joe! :) It just forced my hand on something I knew was coming anyway!! I'm eager to see who can help me out here. I wonder if I need a fully built trans?? Or can I just upgrade and rebuild my curent one?? Just not sure where to go from here......

Sorry to hear that it let go so soon. The only 2 options that I know of right now for built trannys are Builder Bill and Southern Hot Rod. Good luck, neither are anywhere near cheap.

Chase let me try this again...lol
I tried to tell you this on the "other" site..
I would suggest looking at the Builder Bill Transmissions...he really knows his stuff, we are using one in Rubbels Build and in Lisa's new build...everyone running his stuff has been extremely happy, and he offers a 1 year warranty even if you race!
We are a dealer for him as well, and Lisa has talked in depth with him about his products
Feel free to call her at the shop, or talk to Bill directly if you have specific ?s.
Sucks to see your beauty on a flatbed :(

I've know Builderbill is a good guy and he also offers a warranty with his package but it's a tad more. I'd go with Bill if it were me just from personal experience working with him on a side project. RDP's challenger is using one of his trannies and well, he ran a 10.3 today lol.

I've got some searching to do. I know Eddie from Southern HotRod is a good guy too.....what it's going to boil down to, is who can get me the best deal. I think I'm looking at a pretty "apples to apples" comparo here.

BB or SHR you are in good hands brotha...you could probably take the car right to SHR if you really wanted lol
Damn brother! I'm really sorry to hear about your tranny. I hope you get it taken care of at a minimal cost and a bad ass tranny! You are a great rep to the community and are a great spokesman!!!!

Your ride still looks fuckin killer even on the back of a flat deck - Most peoples rides look like turds everyday on the street. Go big- get a kevlar clutch pack in either model and never look back bro.

Hey Chase. Any idea what the hell went wrong with yours? Have you had anyone look at it. There's a lot of guys running around making that kind of power and racing them that are still on their factory trans....I mean, not for long obviously but surely longer than what you've seen.

Right now as it stands, I'm pursuing one last option.....
Jesse Greening, the owner of Greening Auto Co. (where I got my wheels and brakes, and engine bay done) referred me to the guy that builds all their transmissions for their high-end hotrods. We're talking about a guy who does trannys for $250,000 custom hotrods, and has been building transmissions for over 15 years, so I think I'm safe He's looking into parts right now, I explained to him I need a trans that can handle up to 1000rwtq, for my future goals. If he can get the job done for under $2500, I'll be going that route. However, if he cannot meet the "build goals" or the price goal, I'll be going with Eddie from Southern HotRod, the guy took a friggin phone call from me at 9:30pm on a Sunday night!!!! THANKS A SHITLOAD EDDIE!!!! And Eddie seems to be one of the nicest guys on the planet in my two dealings with him. Call my crazy, but that means a lot to me, when a vendor can treat you with genuine respect, and not make you feel "beneath" him.
The only reason I'm not pulling the trigger on a SHR tranny right now, is I'm trying to save a little money (unexpected expense) without compromising quality, and I feel like I have a shot at that with Greening Auto Co. I would like to thank Lisa at BMC as well, for offering up her transmission, but I simply cannot afford that price tag!!! But thank you BMC for the genuine offer!!!
