Posted this on the red site, but figured I'd get more insight over here....

Recently I have noticed that when I am driving, more specifically at slow speeds in 1st gear (ie: at a stopsign with a line of cars infron of me) and I give a little gas to move then let off to coast, I hear a clunk and feel a slight, and I mean very slight, rocking motion under the car. Also, if in autostick and approaching a light or stopsign, when slowing down and almost to a stop when the car automatically goes down into 1st or 2nd, there is also the same clunk and a very slight rocking under the car.

Could this be a sign of the tranny, t-case, or rear diff possibly wearing out and on the way to failure?

It is a new sound, and it does worry me a bit. For reference, I did have a weak battery and when it happend, my AWD was not working for the drive to work (all of 7 miles) and to test it I did get on it from a light and just spun the rear tires.

I have also noticed it seems like the rear wheels are slipping quite a bit more before the fronts bite when taking off hard whether in D or in autostick.

I'd bet it's a motor or trans mount. The rocking you're experiencing is the motor shifting under decel or acceleration.

maybe, it just seems like its coming from the center or rear of the car.....

Hmm. Do you feel it in the pedal at all? Could be the transfer case. I'd be taking it to the dealer before it gets worse.

I would assume it would be either your 1-2 is going out or the converter is almost out.

Could also be excessive backlash in the rear diff. Try changing out the fluid.

fluid is less than 10k miles old....that's why I worry it may be the t-case. first fluid change in 30k miles!

My expo clicks when I turn at low speeds (under 5mph) or when i turn the wheel while not moving at all.

Clicks a bit, I can barely feel it in the wheel. I suspect for me it's CV joints
