A Sportsman ladder will determine running order based off Saturday qualifying round.
All vehicles will get a minimum of two (2) qualifying pass (3 if time allows) on Saturday. That will determine your ladder position by ET and MPH (if we have a tie on ET).
Class Rules for Bracket Racing Competition at LX & BEYOND NATIONALS Event (July 18-19, 2009):
All vehicles MUST pass track sanctioning body rules (IHRA) for ET and speed. Only exceptions are decided by track.
A Sportsman ladder will determine running order based off Saturday qualifying round, closest to dial-in without exceeding.
Delay boxes, cross-over boxes, or any "reaction-time related" electronic bracket racing aids prohibited in this class. Throttle stops and all related throttle-stop type accessories prohibited. Trans brake permitted.
All vehicles will get a minimum of two (2) qualifying pass (3 if time allows) on Saturday. That will help you select your Dial-In Time or your ET.
CLASS DESIGNATIONS/BRACKET:
Bracket classes are outlined as follows:
A Bracket: 11.49-Quicker
B Bracket: 11.50-12.99
C Bracket: 13.00 - Slower

If we book the first 80 then we get the rest of the rooms too.
158 rooms of LX owners and their cars. That is just too crazy not to happen!!! :Yikes_anim:
NO noise complaints and nothing but LX NATS people parked next to our rides while staying at the hotel.
Don't forget that the Holiday Inn also has its own restaurant and bar which means . . . . . . exclusive LX party since we are the only ones staying there.

I just wanted to complain about switching the location!!!!
Please believe me when I say this, it was a very tough decision for us to move the event from the city where it all began, but for the greater good of the event and those that attend every year it was an unfortunate but necessary change.
Chuck and I feel that everyone will be much happier with the event from beginning to end in 2009. Many valuable lessons were learned from 2008 and we have been working diligently to improve upon those. The people of Salem and surrounding areas have welcomed us with open arms and are very excited to have the LX community hold their annual event in their city.
Hope we see you in 2009!!! :racing:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
I've said it before and I will say it again, I don't know where he gets his inspiration from but everytime I see his work I'm amazed at his keen eye for details. Once again we asked the one and only Hazman to exercise his talent on the event banner for this year.
So naturally my thought was when you put two #1's together its destined to be a knockout. The "Godfather of the Photoshop" - Hazman put his crayons to work on the 2008 Best of Show Charger owned by KRYPTONITE. Now I am very pleased to have the honor of unveiling the banner for the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS!!!

Well, the NORTHEAST dominated the event in 2008 and are already talking about a repeat for 2009.
In 2009, we are challenging everybody else to match their competition level and participation!!!
I'm ashamed to say that the Midwest was outnumbered last time and the 2008 LX NATS was held right in their backyard. Hopefully, the Best Club/Team/Forum Participation Challenge will get a little more competition going.
Don't matter if you are in the carshow or racing on the track JUST BRING IT! :racing:

Anybody that will be racing for footballs we want to make sure that the track announcer knows and also the video crew so that they can get the competition on video, please let us know in advance.
Also, anybody have any "grudge-matches" that they would like to setup please let me know. It could be forum member vs. forum member, forum member vs. vendor, or vendor vs. vendor.
Last year PPP tried to get one going with another company but they could not make the trip from California. Let's see what we can do about getting some of these going for 2009.
6 months for competitors to prep their rides and even get some Early Spring tuning and runs in at the other track events prior to the 09 LX NATS. (Also 6 months to do some trash talkin' :tongueout::listen2::gossip:) Just don't break your rides, please!!!
We had a lot of people last year that broke weeks and some only a few days before the 08 LX NATS.
I do want to emphasize that we want to please keep the "grudge-match" and "football" competition friendly.
Be a good sportsman, bring your "A" game and run what you brung.
:racing::racing:
Spread the word......we will start a list 2 months prior so that gives everyone about 4 months to PM, e-mail, call and challenge whomever. In addition, if you all want to see 2 vendor rides go head-to-head, you need to contact them and we will coordinate. I know there are some massive builds going on out there, so instead of you having to go to them why not have them come to you?
Let the games begin!!! :music049:

We are very happy to announce 2 more returning sponsors from last year that will be contributing some special goodies to be announced closer to event time (Valued at $300.00 and $150.00). Both of these companies are at the top of their game and hands-down there is nobody that can touch either of them on quality of work or attention to detail. I have been fortunate enough to purchase products from both of them and hopefully many of you have too. If you have never heard of them or seen their work yet then you need to check out their websites and some of the threads on these forums.
I can't tell you how thankful we are to have BILLET TECHNOLOGY (http://www.custombilletstore.com/) and JINA'S EMBROIDERY (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=81364) onboard again as supporting sponsors. Maybe you will be lucky enough to win something from them at the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS!!!
Thank you BT and Jina's for your continued support and the masterpieces that you have created for all of us.

I haven't been to Quaker City since 1988. They used to host an annual event back in the mid-late 80s called the "Supercar Showdown." It was all stock musclecars competing against each other. It was a huge deal.
You are correct. The promoter of that very same event was also the founder of the original NMCA (National Muscle Car Association) and he is now the co-promoter of the LX & BEYOND NATIONALS, Chuck Green.
I still have video tapes of the SuperCar Showdown they used to sell...and Chuck is in both of them! I still watch them once or twice a year. It's great to watch these guys hammer on cars that are probably worth too much money to drive now. I may have to make the drive up to Quaker City again. If Chuck is promoting it, I'm sure it will be a top-notch event.
We look forward to seeing you make your homecoming trip back to Quaker City Raceway. I will be sure to pass on the kind words to Chuck. Thank you!!!
For those of you that don't know. I asked Chuck to help me with the LX NATS not only because he was an LX and Mopar enthusiast but he also had very successfully organized and run racing events for many years long before the LX-platform was born.
You'll never catch him tooting his own horn so I'm gonna do a little bit for him and lay out a little history on one of the co-founders of the LX NATS. Known to many, he was the person that originally started the NMCA-National Muscle Car Association (1985-1991). During this time as a drag racing enthusiast, promoter, mentor and friend to many he promoted events which were covered in 32 magazines; 17 which were front covers.
Do a google/internet search for "Chuck Green", "Car Craft Magazine", "Super Showdown" and you will see what I'm talking about. Chuck has been around drag racing a long time and continues to help new and upcoming enthusiasts get even better. If you have never drag raced before or just want to pick his brain about how to improve your times I'm sure he would be happy to help anyway he can.
See ya'll in JULY!!!

TIME FOR THE 18TH UPDATE:
T-SHIRT:
We are planning to do an official event t-shirt again this year. As we have always done in the past, ONLY forum members/vendors that are planning to attend the event will be eligible to submit pictures to be featured on this year's shirt. Both vendors and forum members are eligible to submit images for entry. We have already selected the Magnum and Charger owners to be featured this year, but we are still looking for entries for a modified Chrysler 300/300C and Dodge Challenger. If you are interested, please PM or e-mail turbobuckeye (Anthony) for details.
GATE FEES:
$100.00 - Racing (Car/Driver) / $60.00 - Car Show (Car/Driver) - - - - - for entire weekend
$10.00 (Per Day) - spectators, passengers and children 13 and over.
We understand the sensitive environment of the economy and for this reason we are NOT taking any registration fees up-front this year from racing and carshow participants. Everyone planning to enter the carshow or racing competitions will pay their entry fees at the gate this year. Chuck and I discussed this prior to the announcement of the 09 event and we are very much looking forward to seeing everyone this year but also did not want to add to any hardships you may be addressing during the early months of 2009. Hopefully, this will allow everyone to plan and save up for the event but also take care of other financial responsibilities that need your attention, as well as complete some knock-out modifications before the event!!!
WHO IS COMING:
We are officially 5 months away from the kickoff of the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS so we think its time to get the attendee list rolling so everyone can see who is coming, where they're coming from and what they are bringing? Don't forget that the $119.99/per night rate is only good for rooms booked by February 28th. After that date, the rate will increase to $129.99/per night which does not seem like a big of a deal but could be a substantial difference for those of you arriving a day earlier and staying for the entire weekend.
STAY TUNED:
More details still coming. A lot of items are in the works that we REALLY want to tell you about but are not ready for print just yet. We will announce more as soon as we get the green light from the parties involved.
Thank you again to everyone for your support and everyone behind the scenes helping to make the 2009 LX NATS possible. Keep bumping those threads, get those caravans organized, encourage those vendors and spread the word because this is going to be a FUN event for EVERYONE this year!!!

Thanks everyone for all the support, bumping those threads, getting those caravans organized and making this THE BEST LX & BEYOND NATIONALS event yet!!! If you don't see me posting up a lot its because I'm working hard to get details locked down for YOUR event. I don't take the LX community support lightly and appreciate that you all are coming to my home state of OHIO to meet new friends and old friends and have some FUN. Without all of you and your support the event is nothing.

Justin and the folks from ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE CONCEPTS (http://automotivelightstore.com/) supported this event 2 years ago during its start-up when it was just a 1-day event called the Central Ohio LX Spring Meet & Greet. Again, without hesitation they stepped up and supported us last year as it expanded to a full-weekend event. We are very happy to have them back again for the 3rd year in a row as an official sponsor for the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS.
ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE CONCEPTS (http://automotivelightstore.com/) is well known to the "LX Community" for bringing the innovative "halo-lights" to the lx-platform Dodge/Chrysler vehicles. Their list of lighting solutions to accent your ride and make it stand apart from the crowd include headlights, tailights, fogs, interior lighting and many more. ADVANCED AUTOMOTIVE CONCEPTS (http://automotivelightstore.com/) has been named the "OFFICIAL LIGHTING PRODUCT" of the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS.
They will be providing some very cool prizes for carshow participants.

The economy has gone way down since we held last year's LX & Beyond Nationals. This was a huge concern of ours before diving into the planning and setup of this year's event. As some of you may or may not be aware our title sponsor FREDERICK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (http://www.frederickdodge.com/) was on the list of dealerships to lose their rights to sell new Chrysler Jeep Dodge vehicles. Nobody could have predicted something like this would happen to any dealerships but I want to personally say thank you to Bob Frederick Jr. for supporting and believing in this year's LX & Beyond Nationals. We wish him, the employees of Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge and the community of Boardman, Ohio the best in the future. Mopar fans are losing a strong proponent for the brand and the community is losing an iconic piece of automotive history. Thank you for giving back to a hobby and Mopar automotive culture that we are all a part of.
The LX & Beyond Nationals has been and will always be about gathering as a family, reuniting with old friends and making some new ones, sharing ideas and experiences and having a whole lot of FUN!!! Due to the down-turn of the economy we will not be able to do an Extreme LX Makeover again this year. Thank you to everyone that inquired about it and we hope that sometime in the future we will be able to do it again. Also, I did want to let all of you know that thanks to ALL of our very generous sponsors/supporters that believed in us and the event we will be giving away $48,215.00 in prizes this year at the 2009 LX & BEYOND NATIONALS (http://www.lxandbeyondnats.com/)!!! I will announce all of the prize awards on Thursday, June 18th . . . . So STAY TUNED!!!
One last thing....I believe this may have gotten overlooked in prior posts so I want to re-address it today because its something that is very important to me. A good friend of mine, Ssulin Anne is planning to ride 180-miles in 2 days in the 2009 PELOTONIA BIKE TOUR (http://www.pelotonia.org/ride/riders_profile.jsp?MemberID=1856&RiderName=Ssulin%20Anne%20Jin) in August to help raise $2000 for Cancer Research. The LX & Beyond Nationals will be helping them raise that money. Ssulin Anne and “Team Hot Wheels” and some of their volunteers will have a booth setup at this year's event, also we are asking for some items from our sponsors to be raffled off to support them in their efforts to raise money for cancer research. You may also make donations via the Team Hot Wheels website (http://www.pelotonia.org/ride/riders_profile.jsp?MemberID=1856&RiderName=Ssulin%20Anne%20Jin). If you know or have known anybody affected by cancer please help them reach their goal. Every dollar raised by Pelotonia and its riders will go directly to fund cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Is it July yet?!?

Special Guest? - Friday, July 3, 2009
SRT Engineering has graciously offered to come out to the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals on July 18-19 at Quaker City Raceway in Salem, Ohio. They will be bringing with them some very interesting cars to show off too. SRT Engineering will be available and interacting with LX & Beyond participants throughout the entire weekend and have also offered to do a 1 hour tech talk over the weekend. Also, the SRT engineers want to spend some time with around 25 Charger SRT8 customers to get some specific feedback about their cars.
I am truly humbled that they have extended this offer to us on their own time and without pay to attend the event. The SRT Engineers and I look forward to seeing everyone very soon!

Sam R. known to many of you as "OMSRT8" on the forums has again created his one-of-a-kind trophies for the drag racing competition of the LX & Beyond Nationals. Sam is an avid racing enthusiast and supporter of the LX community. We asked Sam to create the trophies last year for the Inaugural LX & Beyond Nationals and I think it goes without saying they were very well received. Due to the response from last year's attendees we asked Sam to do it again for 2009 and he accepted without hesitation.
This event is more about car enthusiast, friends and family coming together than any prizes or trophies. Sam donated a great deal of his time and money into these for all of you to enjoy. Whether you see him on the forums or in-person please be sure to thank him for his contribution to the LX community.
Thank you very much Sam.

Wow, another LX & Beyond Nationals has come and gone!
First, I would like to thank each and every one of you that was able to attend the event this year and make it even better than last year. Without all of you there is no event. Let me say that again, “without ALL of YOU there is no event.” Thank you for your support, thank you for your kind words, thank you for attending and for all of the great memories.
Next, I would like to thank all of the 2009 LX & Beyond Sponsors. Hands-down this is the best group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with “A thru Z”. I only wanted the best this year and extremely grateful I got to work with the best. If you guys only knew the lengths each one of these companies and individuals went thru to support this event (only in its 2nd year) you would be amazed. Without them none of the great prizes, t-shirts, hats or giveaways would have been possible. Please let them know that we appreciate them supporting our hobby and hope they will be willing and able to continue doing it in the future. Whether or not you won an event prize or door prize, please take a moment to send them a quick email, start a thread, send them a PM or send them a message on their websites to thank them for supporting the event and our Modern Mopar community.
Also, thank you to Erich and all of the SRT Engineers for coming out on their own time to hang out and talk with all of us as well as bringing out some very cool rides. Anybody that did not attend this year definitely missed out on a great opportunity to meet some very interesting people. Those SRT guys really know how to make an exit!!!
Last but not least, I would like to personally thank all of the countless individuals that offered help and helped me make this event happen for everybody this weekend. I don’t want to name each person by name because I don’t want to do them an injustice by forgetting a name (there are so many). Just know that there are some truly amazing people in our community and the words “thank you” don’t capture how grateful I am to each and everyone one of them for what they did. Thank you.
There is an issue that I did not address prior to the event because I have always felt that the LX & Beyond Nationals is not about one or two individuals it’s about the entire Modern Mopar community. Day one, when this began in that parking lot three years ago at Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbus, Ohio it always has been about the community and as long as I am blessed to be here it will always be about the community. There was a vendor that I spoke to at the end of the day on Sunday that I want to thank for the feedback and the support (he knows who he is) and his words convinced me that it was necessary to say something.
Not many people knew it but the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals was organized and run entirely by me. I did have a few volunteers help this weekend but other than that there was No crew, No staff and No CHERRY (aka Chuck Green). Chuck resigned from the event months ago and will not be returning in the future. All of the sponsors were made aware of the change and I advised them my intentions were to move forward with the event. They believe in what the event is about and support the Modern Mopar community and without question supported me 110%. This is the first you are hearing of this because a handful of individuals and the sponsors respected my request to not post or say anything about it. There were many thoughts that went thru my mind back then and the months following but at no point did I ever consider cancelling the event. I know that everything was not perfect which gives some opportunity to improve things for next year but hope everyone had a great time.
I look forward to seeing everyone again for the 2010 LX & Beyond Nationals.
July 17-18, 2010 (save the date)
Sincerely.
Anthony Carter
