View Full Version : Why would I be getting coolant overspray again???

Over the past few drives, since I've picked up my car from the torque converter fix, I've been getting a fair amount of coolant spray again, and I'm having to clean it every day. It's squirting out the "blow hole" in the resevoir, all over the inside front fender.
Could it be overfilled?? They flushed everything when they did the converter swap, maybe they put too much coolant in?? My temps are staying normal, under 200 degrees. I haven't had this issue since I first got the car, and had the same coolant gunk that everyone else had. Should I empty my resevoir a bit?? Thoughts?? What else could cause it??

FIRST-DONT let that coolant sit on the paint-it will destroy it.
NEXT let it cool over night and see in the morning were the coolant level is at. theres a max cold coolant line on the bottle.

It could also be the cap. I know the Jeep guys had some issues with it but haven't heard much about the LX guys. They all switched out to another aftermarket cap I think or there was a TSB on it if I recall.

Coolant levels are within normal after cooling, I've checked. As I pull it into the garage, the level is a touch over the max line......
And yes, I'm wiping that shit off with Meguiars Ultimate Detail Spray immediately. That's what bugs me the most, I just got my entire engine bay painted recently!!!!! :(
Fuck you Markus, that shit ain't happnin!!!!! :D
Chase, that happened to me also. DynoSteve had my Jeep / Engine bay detailed before we went to Zmax for Builder Bill's event back in the spring and that coolant spray started when I was down there. Not a lot just enough to piss you off and fuck up the engine bay. My solution was to pull the motor!! :pounding table: :ROTFLMAO:

Yeah. I'm just gonna pull a little coolant out, a couple cups or so. Should be good after that hopefully. :) My solution isn't as extreme as yours Brian!!!!
