My pops just got his new wheels in. 300C SRT8 wheels. He got these brand new in the factory boxes off ebay for a hell of a deal (in my mind at least). The things are untouched. He wants to keep the stealth look of the car and didn't want to put his car up on blocks and wait (to be widened). This also gives him the option of putting street tires on one set and drag radials (or anything else) on the other set.

The goal is to mount a Nitto NT555R 305/35-20 on the rears. To do that we think we are going to send out two of the new ones to weldcraft and having them add 1 inch to each. That will make them 10" rims (maybe a 1/16" less if you count the cut). It looks like the 305's suggest a 10" wide minimum. Then all we'll need is a spacer though not sure what size yet. 5mm or 7mm? 1/4" = 6.35mm
What do you guys think?

Great idea! I'd like to do this to mine as well. It seems that Milan would have some helpful info on this matter.

There have been a few guys on here that had their wheels done at weldcraft. Milan aka Hemisfear, Jason aka SRT8bby, also Chris aka Legmaker. All of them had their wheels widened to 10.25. Check the following threads for any posible question you may have...

You're in good hands. I personally think the 305's would look better on a slightly wider rim as there is no real bulge. The tire's edge lines up nicely with the rim itself. The fab work to get that size wheel to fit can be done at home (Jason did it himself) or very quickly at a body shop with an airhammer. Your dad will like them a lot regardless. But I'd go 10.25.

Well, that's what we're trying to figure out. 10" or 10.25"?

Will the 10.25" work? I heard someone say they wish they didn't go that last 1/4".

if you think about it, going with the 10.25 will work for your 305 and if you want to, down the road you can go with an even wider tire

I had mine to 10.25 and yes, I think I have enough room for a wider tire next time. Look at the first link Draggin gave you in this thread.

a 295/40/20 makes more sense. Fills up the wheel wells better because its almost an inch taller. Just saying... I have coilovers so i can do whatever the FUCK I want!! FTW!!!

No, it doesn't. But again, I think 20's look better than 22's so suck it.

Those links are the reason I joined this site. I know them well. I thought I read somewhere where one of you guys wish they had went with the 1 inch addition instead of the 1.25". I'll have to check my pm's or ask my dad who it was.
