I think there has to be requirements met first.
Depending on the the availability of the position and the situation it could be one or all of the below listed.

1. A minimum of 500 legitimate post earn a spot on the moderation team.
2. An undisclosed time to prove you have earned the title.
3. You must detail free of charge each of the moderation teams vehicles before it is put to vote.

There is a chance that I could have made some, or all of this up. I just felt the need to respond since no one else had at this point.
