View Full Version : "Paranormal Activity" 11000 dollar movie but badass creepy!?

From what I've heard on the radio this morning and those who were calling in, this movie is no Blair Witch Project but was done right. Anyone hear about this yet or were able to see it in your area? I'm not into horror movies at all, although I've seen my share in the past but what they were saying about this one (without giving anything away) was intriguing. Too bad my wife hates scary movies so I may go so it with a friend or two.

Made in one week for US $15,000, homemade horror film Paranormal Activity grossed $7.9 million at the box office last weekend, after a limited opening in 13 U.S. college towns on Sept. 25.

Relying on word of mouth, the promotional website eventful.com and an ad campaign that focuses on audiences' terrified reactions instead of the movie itself, the film has already seen unprecedented success, especially for a movie that failed to get a distribution deal after screening at the Slamdance Festival in 2007.

But that side of the story shouldn't overshadow the fact that this supernatural thriller is more genuinely scary than any big-budget slasher film or remake of a Japanese horror flick.

Hi there, I heard it was worth seeing, I have'nt been to a movie theater since Austin Powers was out, I get grossed out when I go cause there are so full of "Cuddies",I have a problem with that...But go see it if you can.It is scarey so don't go alone...

It just came to my area about 3 weeks ago. I went and saw it last week; it was a pretty good movie. If you are into horror movies or stuff that makes you go "what the fuck" you will enjoy it.

That's what they said this morning on the radio. One caller said that when she left she was still thinking about it like an hour later. That's why some of their comments made me curious because normally if I watch a movie like this, it's not at the show.

Paramount Pictures just got in on the action of that movie,, Now they will probably take it up a notch....
