I'm glad to have found this forum. I wont have to explain to a WRX owner why my Vette will toast him. I have 3 really nice modern muscle cars & want to hear from others like me.

I'll get some pics up asap. I'm lousy about getting pics up. My wife will have to help out. I was into old iron. Shelby Mustangs & big block Galaxies in particular. I drove a GTO in '05 & I was blown away. Power, comfort, great breaks. I sold a Galaxies & bought the GTO , the motor/trans & a good stereo. I am so impressed with the LS family. I built a 455cube LSX with aftermarket heads. The stock trans wasn't having it, so I got a Tranzilla 6 spd rated to 800lb ft. Then the 10 bolt diff complained & I got a Ford 9" unit with stronger half shafts & CV joints. I left the car stock looking. No one bothers me till it's too late. With 245's on the back, I'm extremely traction limited. Fitting wider tires will require some subtle body mod & suspension mods. I hope to have 285's out back in the next 6 weeks. I drive this every day
I'm also amazed at the Challanger/Camaro/Mustang. I keep waiting for the Gov't to shut them down

Sounds like you've got a really nasty GTO. With that kind of power...I don't think you'll ever hook it up with street tires. Even with DR's, I think you'll still have traction problems unless you can heat em' up first.

I hope not, but I'll bet they tax them higher and higher every other year. Making it harder for the common person to pick these up. Hopefully the wife has time time to help you out with the pics but you can always use the attach feature here since we don't really have a limit on JPEG files sizes.
