The staff at MMF want to let everyone know that we have been targeted by many spammers recently. In effort to combat these attempts we have raised the time interval between post to 60 sec. We want to leave this setting at the higher value until we can get a better spamming filter in place.

Could you guys have it so all of the new members have to get approved by you before they can join? This would filter out almost all of the spammers on this site.

They're persistent little fucks though. A friend of my friend's is a computer genius, and recently he was telling us when he ran a few forums (using vBulletin...yes we'll be hiring him), he at one point, recieved 2-3000 spammers a week!!! I couldn't believe it. I have to ask him what kind of site he ran. I know it wasn't a car site that's for sure.
