Hey people, wondering if the anyone here can offer up some advice for a friend and MMF staffer who has an HHP Stage II 300 SRT8. He was travelling to his parents from FL on his way to NJ and the 300 started sputtering on the highway. He went to pull off and it had stalled. When he tried to restart it, the car sputtered again and stalled. He says he cannot hear anything strange with the motor at all.. BUT, he's like 130 miles from anywhere and is getting the following codes. The 02 codes he's always had.

0138 0137
0301 - misfire??
2096, 2098 , 2098/PD?

I told him to try and pull fuse 11, wait and restart and he did only to have the car start with difficulty, sputter, and stall. This just happened and he'll be looking for local help if he can get a car to stop for him lol..

ANY ADVICE OR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I know it's a long shot since it could be a fuel pump or something. But could it also be his 02 sensors trashed?

Woah, that sucks. Not sure the 300 codes are the same as the Jeep, but here goes:

0138 O2 sensor 1/2 circuit high
0137 O2 sensor 1/2 circuit low
0301 Cylinder 1 misfire
2096 Down stream fuel trim system 1 lean
2098 Down stream fuel trim system 2 lean

First thing I would check is to make sure the related sensors are plugged in tightly. Maybe even try unhooking them and reconnecting.

I would also check the connections on the PCM. Try unplugging and reconnecting.

Pretty tough with no tools.

Thanks guys. Darrin, I think you hit the nail on the head...hopefully. It's dark there, raining and it appears someone has finally stopped to see if they could help him out. I think his nav showed the closest thing was 8 miles away.

Keep you guys updated.

He did end up checking the codes and that's exactly what they were.

Hey Darrin,

Wilson had mentioned that all those "P" codes are pretty standard for all the OEM's

He is just north of North Carolina in Virginia. The local Police just showed they're waiting for a flatbed to show up. I hope it's not a spring and a valve and more like some messed up sensor. Apparently there's a dealer in the nearby city somewhere, so the car will be on it's way there.

Man sounds like it could be the computer. Sounds like the same thing that happened to me. My computer was fried - unfortunately I know why, and yes, it was dumb.

This is the worst news ever but at least he's safe, hey?

Others on LX forums have said it could be one of the manley valve springs since Markus's package probably ran them (earlier package) which means it quite possible threw a valve. Only hope is the piston didn't sustain too much damage. I hope it's not this Mark.

Well, I checked my messages and Mark called and said the dealer will know more tomorrow so either they didn't do shit or they're tearing it apart.

Prolly the former. You'd think knowing what's coming dealers would try to get in as much work as possible before the axe drops.

He's running a early HHP stage II package. I wasn't aware that they used different springs in their earlier realease of their stage II heads...would have to speak with Josh about this one.
