Today I was using my factory air pump to put some air in my tires and it cut-out after a minute or so. I've never used this pump before, but when I checked the accessory outlet in my cigarette console it didn't work with my radar detector. I checked the manual and it looks like this outlet is fuse #18 in the rear fuse compartment. I checked this 20A fuse and it was blown. I went to Pep Boy and picked-up some new 20A fuses. Came back and installed a new 20A fuse and my radar detector still didn't seem to come-on, but after a brief second it did, but then it shut right off. I checked the fuse again and it looks ok. I tried swapping in another fuse and its a no go - the accessory outlet will not work at all now. If I plug my detector into the outlet in the console it works fine. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong with the other outlet? Everything else works fine. If I can't figure it out then I'm going to take it to the dealer and let them figure it out...its still under warranty.

I think you're' on the wrong fuse. The ashtray lighter socket is 18 in the trunk, the center console accessory socket is fuse 9 in the rear box.
If that doesn't work, I'd check the wiring under the fuse box and in the center console. There may be a fusable link (thin piece of wire designed to fail before anything gets cooked) in-line too.

The fuse that blew was #18 in the rear fuse box which I replaced. I think your onto something with a fusable link though. Since I don't know where it could be located, I'll probably just take it into the dealer since I've still got about a month left on my factory warranty.
