Yup thats right. Except this time we are rescuing him, sort of. He belongs to my wifes coworker. His name is "Puppy". He belonged to her coworkers grandfather who passed away. So it looks like he is coming home with us with our crew...

Anyway...that makes this dog #3.

I will now have:

1 nine year old Cocker Spaniel.
1 two year old long haired chihuahua
1 nine year old spaniel mix....coming soon.....

I told my wife I didn't want this dog going to a shelter, I wanted him to be able to live his life playing and being loved and if this place is our house, then so be it.

That's awesome Doug. I have a new respect for you buddy!! I'm SUCH a dog lover, it's ridiculous. If I had it my way, we'd have 5. I think all dogs should be rescued. Good for you buddy!!!!! :clap

Thanks my friend. I wish we had a single family home and not a townhouse so that i could have a bigger backyard for my guys...but regardless we don't have kids and have plenty of love to share.....so this weekend I think we will be picking him up on Saturday. :yeah

You got it....I think we are going to pick him up and bring him home on Saturday. I am hoping my Cocker will be ok with him, they are nearly the exact same age so I am hoping he becomes acclimated very well...I want to spend the weekend with him here at the house with the other dogs to insure his safety and that of my other dogs...I have a very good feeling all will be well..

sounds like you have a good plan Doug, just make sure the introduction is slow and controlled and hopefully everybody will be friends in no time, good luck bud!

Update after 24hrs.

SUCCESS!!!

We did just like Doc said!! We were here and kept control, made sure the dogs knew this was OUR house, not theirs..And bingo it worked....We went to brunch today so they were all alone for 3 hours and we came home and GOOD TO GO!! So far he is my wifes shadow and adores my wife. So I am very happy about that. She went to take a nap and he went with her and snuggled up against her. Sweet!! Oh and we found out he is 11yrs old. He sure doesn't act it thats for sure... I will try and attempt to post pictures...

But all in all I would have to say its a success...Now my only problem is, trying to go on vacation now is next to impossible. We don't board our dogs...sooooooo...from here on out its going to be an interesting ride..

Congratulations to the Dog Whisperer's!
Don't sweat the hols thing, Doug...when you're really ready to go, I'd bet you'll have a relative or sitting service available to you.

That's great to hear Doug but you might want to look into seeing who can watch them in the future since I know you guys have had your trip planned for some time...don't want to miss that now do ya!? Glad to hear the dogs are getting along though and you're wife has a new best bud.

Milan my good friend you are ABSOLUTELY correct. I have awesome neighbors and so far its a go for them to watch our guys...I am afraid of taking them to boarding place. Although our Vet does board dogs and perhaps we could do that...just not to keen on that, thats all...

Dr. Steve...thoughts on boarding dogs at the Vet?

kinda depends on your own feelings and the set-up that your vet has D. We have a small boarding kennel here and my dog comes to work with me every day and stays there. He is pretty happy and has only caught minor upper respiratory illnesses twice in 4+ years so overall I'm happy with it. I would say if you know your vet well and you visit the kennel beforehand to ensure that it is clean and a place that you are comfortable with, go for it! I'd certainly be more happy with my dog staying at a vet's office than a pet "spa" where they have no knowledge of how to handle possible medical issues / emergencies. If your vet won't let you tour the kennel, then find another vet!!!!!
