As many of you know, the current resale value of most American cars is pretty crappy, especially during a trade-in. I intend on keeping my car as a track/weekend/nice day type car down the road and whatever money I dump into it won't go to waste. At least I'll have fun with it for years to come. Course, this is if I can afford to keep another car on the side.
Anyone else thought about what they might do with theirs in the future?

If I have the means to keep her, then I will, but there is a great possibility that I'll send her back and get something more modern...it's a mid-life thang.

I plan on keeping mine for a long time. This is the first car I've had where I was able to do a complete H/C/I combo and I'm lovin' the power. If anything I want to eventually do some more go fast mods and that will take time and obviously, more money. Eventually once its paid off, I can get an econo box and not have to drive it everyday.

Mine is on the selling block as we speak.
I love it but I cant take the value it is losing daily on me.

Unfortunately, with all off these types of vehicles, that's a universal true.

A JEEP baby!!!
The best part about the Jeeps is that you can drive them year round and they put a smile on your face year round. My favorite, (for those snow belt folks) is turning off the T/C at a red light with snow covered roads. It will still beat the best set up 4x4 on blizzacks. :grinyes:

+1. Today, but who knows about tomorrow. I really want a new Wrangler, just don't want the 0-60 in 9.4sec! I'm hoping to keep the GC & add some more classics.

I'm keeping mine a long time, I keep all of my cars a long time. I guess when I find something I like I stick with it. Right now, the wife and I are deciding whether a Jeep or Challenger SRT8 will be next. Whatever is next, it will have a 6.1 (or 6.4).
I might be a pessimist, but I think the writing is on the wall that this current generation of muscle cars will be the last again for a while. I plan on keeping one for the drag strip and one for the road course.

Both of my rides are unique and there aren't a lot of either of them out there, hell, one of them is numbered...I am keeping them both for a long long time!

It's pretty cool to hear you alot of guys want to keep their modern muscle. I just love the car and I KNOW for a fact I'd love a Jeep SRT8 as well. I can't get enough really and truth be told, Adam's right...this may be the last of them for a bit.

I like your plan. I have a Ford Focus now and will probably get a Honda Fit or something similar next year when the SRT8 is paid off. That way I'll be insulated against gas prices and still be able to have my fun at the track.

I'm keeping the Jeep forever. . . my son, like Keoni's kids, will be a pussy magnet as soon as he turns 25 and I let him drive the thing :D My real plan is to retire the Jeep to the garage as soon as money loosens up and we move, then get into a luxo sedan for DD

steve, i like the way you think giggity giggity. when my car comes out of the garage in the future, it will be like watching somebody pull a cherry 69 chevelle ss out of the garage. thats why im keeping it.
