Do you recommend to install it for Hemi 6.1L?? I read in forums that it is one of the best mods to be done for our Hemi (something about engine oil vapors?) but some ppl said that it's not necessary and u don't need to install it.

Btw I already have Diablo catch can, but I have to remove my CAI to install the can because there's no much space, which I don't feel like doing right now :p.

So what do you guys think?? anyone already have a catch can installed??

Yes, it's important and you should put it on. Our HEMIs are now famous for putting lots of oil out of the crankcase PCV valve and into the intake manifold. That oil makes everything dirty faster and ill increase knock in the engine which will reduce power.

Oh, and yes I have one and every HEMI that goes through our shop gets one too (if they don't already have it).

I agree. It is a must. Here is a great one from Billet Technology.

Don't wait you guys. All it takes is one good look inside your throttle body and intake and I guarantee you'll see a small pool of oil in there. Johan of DiabloSport even stated that if you use a high octane fuel (like 93 or 94) like I'm sure many do, the oil blow by can effectively reduce the octane number of that fuel and cause knock. If you're running a custom or canned tune designed to run on 93+ and/or have your knock sensors desensitized, it can be bad news for your engine...and these are just the short term effects! This coming weekend I'll be taking my tb off and hoping to clean things up as much as I can.

Like everyone has said...catch can is a must have in my book. I've seen what all that oil vapor blowby does to the heads and piston tops...essentially gunks everything up with a thick carbon build-up. Install the can and be happy your keeping all that blowby out of your intake, heads, and block. And yes, I'm running one also.

change it out every oil change...you'll see about half way full of oil or so most likely (give or take)

See that! Freakin' 200kms only and there's a bit there that would have ended up in the intake. Did you install yours yet Matty? LOL

I am going to be getting a catch can this month! But I would like to clean out the throttle body, does anyone have directions on what to do. The car has about 70k miles on it. I was told that I should use seafoam but I don't want to cause too much smoke in my neighborhood, any alternatives? Thanks in advance.

You can take the throttle body off and clean it by hand. Take off the electrical connector, then 4 bolts hold it on. I would do the SeaFoam treatment at least once after you get the catch can to clean out the whole intake manifold and the valves too. Its usually not too smokey.

I cleaned it using soaked cloth with gasoline :D! lol
