Thanks a million folks! I thank those who have given their lives for "our" country. I sit here in Iraq today talking with people daily. I ask them if they think they have it better than before "we" took out Sadaam. Overwhelmingly they tell me that during Sadaam they had no cell phones, no internet, 2 tv channels that played 24 hours a day of Sadaam tv. They tell me that they are connected to the world, they feel free. Even though the security isn't perfect, that they know the ones who have died fighting did so fighting the real captures. I think of that and know exactly why I would give my life for "our" country. Happy Memorial Day folks!! Rick

Man, what a great 'insider's' view. That's honestly the first time I've heard that and it does feel pretty good to know. Thank you all for your dedicated service and to those who've paid the ultimate price for their commitments.

I've been working 14 hour days without a day off for 3 months and a day now. I come to my CHU...which is a Combat Housing Unit....for those who didn't know what it meant. I had to Google it. Anyways, I get to my CHU and jump on the web for a few minutes and have been to lazy to post much. I've been lurking though. There is talk of us getting extended an additional 3 months. So, a 9 month deployment on top of the 4 monther I did to Asscrackistan a few weeks before heading over here will make it a 13 month deployment. I can't bitch though...I just think of all the Army and AF guys and gals who do 12-15 months all the time. But, when it's unplanned it still sucks. The work is good though! When are you headed back out the door?
