Holy SHIT does this thing launch like a freaking champ now!! Converter will flash at about 4300-4500 and it's just GONE outta the hole. Very little wheel spin. With the stock converter it would dead hook and flash to 3200-3400 or so. I have a feeling at a well prepped track, I'll be dead hooking. The new MOPAR TCM and Dominator are great for each other too. In D I'm shifting all gears right at 6400 RPMs. I can't wait to hit the track next Friday night!!!

Very nice H. I've been hearing that some of the Jeep guys are loving that TCM because of the shift points. What are your mods again? You're running a cam no?

There's been some nice new products for our cars this past year. Since I don't drag my car, I'm going to leave the Protorque in my car. Once you hit the track, let us know how you did.

Thanks Chase... it's pretty damn fun.

Dwight from Stage 6 and I did it. Right when we got the tranny and transfer case out I got a call from my mom that she needed a ride to an emergency Dr. appt. I had 2.5 hours to get the TC in and back together and get her to the appt. I had 30 mins. of driving time. Needless to say, we walked in 1 minute before the appt. Whew!! That was cookin' boys.

Yeah when I did a datalog of 2 launches it felt amazing. Just a touch of chirp and she jumped like a raped ape. Then I saw the logs later and had the biggest chubby hard on! Very happy indeed.

Thankfully Josh put my TCM in his LX first and raised the shift points to 6400 for me. I'll be damn too if it doesn't shift right at 6400. 2 logs I have seen 6400 exactly on the logs. Big difference going from a shift 1-2 shift at 5800-5900 to 6400. Plus being able to hold it and shift it when I want is awesome too. Although, I goofed leaving the dealer the other day. Forgot it doesn't auto upshift and I let it NAIL to rev limiter. Truck didn't like that at all. LIMP MODE shut down.:pounding table: Had to pull over, shut it off, clear the code, then re-fire and go. Totally embarrassing. That won't happen again I guarantee it!

I'm hitting the track on Friday. 5 days is going to be a long time to wait for me. Arrrghh. I'm expecting some nice gains. I know it feels a whole lot stronger!

The autoupshift is one of my concerns with this TCM and nobody has seemed to answer my question as to whether you can still enable the auto upshift with the Predator and new TCM. I need the auto upshift enabled. When my tires spin hard in 1st gear, I'll bounce all over the rev limiter repeatedly without it. I guess I'll stop by and talk with Josh one of these days and get all the scoop of this new TCM and see if its worth it in an LX.

Why not just leave it in Drive? I've been shifting at 6400 in D.

I absolutely hate driving my car in Drive! I hate having my car be in 4th gear by 30MPH just cruising along and having the motor bogue down...my motor doesn't like running at 1200rpms and will surge some. Even if I give my car a decent amount of gas, it'll still shift out quickly into the next gear. It seems the only way it'll keep the gear I'm in is to go WOT. Part of this issue might be that I need to reset the trans adaptives, but in general...leaving the car in Drive sucks donkey dick!

I autostick my Jeep at all times. I too hate D, BUT for racing now, it seems D is my best bet. 1-2 happens so fast I don't think I can shift it quick enough. I will only use D for drag racing now. Street and DD'ing get autostick.

I drive about 55% in D and 45 in autostick..and that's only because I'm driving casually to work or back. If I'm out for a cruise, the 2nd figure rises to 75%.

The new TCM is supposed to keep it in gear longer in D but I haven't noticed it. I autostick it and shift it at about 3K-3500 RPMs. It just drives so much better like that.
