I've dealt with insomnia in the past. Everyone does on occasion but I think I could help if you give me some info. Do you nap at all during the day? If you do, can you fall asleep easily when you do try? Course, there's a ton of other questions, but once we have it nailed down...you should be sleeping like a freakin' baby again. Caffeine intake? Any? For some, caffeine can stay in your system for 17 hours. Do you fall asleep easy and wake up early?

I don't exactly have Insomnia, but I do have Sleep Apnea. I was actually tested for it at a Sleep Clinic last week. I don't really have trouble falling asleep, but I do not get quality sleep.

So they confirmed you have an apnea then? My next door neighbor owns a sleep clinic here and I have to set an appointment up through my doc. My wife says I snore and I do feel tired alot. I think I have it to but something about wearing that gas mask appartus in bed doesn't appeal to me.

No I do not nap during the day. Yes, I have a big caffeine intake. 3-4 Cokes per day and anytime I drink it is always rum and coke. And yes I fall asleep easy and I wake up early.

Ditto!
I was tested about a year ago. Diagnosis revealed I have severe sleep apnea.
Got the Cpap machine and it works great. However, I still have trouble sleeping, for a different reason though. My wife keeps poking me in the side cause I am sleeping so well, relaxed and quietly she thinks I may have died! lol...
The machine really helps. A bit tricky to get used to, but man, what a difference a good night of sleep makes!

Don't use the mask. I was given a very soft rubber piece that just rest over the openings to your nose. My machine also has whats called a "ramp" setting.
Once diagnosed with sleep apnea they figure an amount of pressure required to get you into a sound sleep. Sometimes the pressure is overwhelming and you cant get used to it. The ramp setting lowers the pressure for I think 15 minutes. Allowing you to more comfortably get to sleep before it kicks in to what you actually need.
Ask to see the different types of mask, and check to see if your has a ramp setting. if you want more info, PM me and I will let you know what kind of machine it is, and give you more details on the nose piece thing....
