Thanks to Ralph (MOL) and Cam for their help this past weekend I now have the engine for my new project. Picked up a used 6.1L long block for a fair price. Tore it down on Monday and it looks great! Only 6k miles on it. :)
The plan is to stick it in a Factory Five 33 Hot Rod that is going to have all the amenities of a factory car.
Here is the motor:

and its going into one of these.

Thinking silver and purple 2-tone for the color scheme right now.

When she's a functioning go-kart (hopefully about 6 months from now) you can come down and drive it!

How the hell did I miss this thread. Damn work! That's an awesome project Adam! Man that thing will fly too! I definitely like the color scheme you've chosen. Have you considered that very dark maroon with metal flake in it? You know that color I'm talking about don't ya? I really like the classics painted in something like that.

I recall you talking about this project about 2 years ago on the C, Adam, amiright!? You're already there? Fantastic!

Yeah, I did mention this when it was more of just an idea. Now the research is done and i'm moving forward and buying parts. And Milan, that dark red is my second choice to purple, nothind is set in stone yet.

I think it'll be a badass project regardless of the paint scheme. I hope you have a connection with regards to the paint..I can't believe how expensive that part can be. My friend's work colleague has an old vette completely restored and paid 15G's for just the paint. I mean, it looks very nice but unless I was swimming in cash, no thanks! lol.

Luckily, when I was a teenager I worked w/ a local body guy so I'm going to do it myself...and take my time and do it right. Nothing on this build will rushed. It'll be done whenever, but done right.

Nothing major. Just buttoning up the motor and saving money for parts. This will a slower rather than faster project. Don't worry, I'll post updates when there is anything worth telling.
Thanks Mike. I'm thinking a darker sliver/metal flake gray with metal flake purple.

Made a little progress today. The engine is fully assembled and sealed up for storage and then mock-up in the spring. Decided on using an A500 transmission with lock-up converter. 95% sure on a darker silver with medium metal flake paint and candy purple. Talked with Bismark at US Wheel about some one-off custom wheels with candy purple centers and satin barrels. :)

Think I've found the look I want. The graphics will be similar to this, still deciding on scallops or flames. The whole pattern will be moved forward though and the graphics will end at the trailing edge of the door. I feel it will be more balanced that way. What's red below will be a dark metallic silver, probably the same as the darker silver of the 06 300C SRT8s. What's creme in the pic will be candy purple. What do you guys think?

And probably these for wheels:

I especially dig that the flames aren't all embellished with additional striping or alternate hues.
The combination you've described sounds classically understated, a true modern "rod", A.

Can't wait to see it when its done! I like the idea of the car mostly being silver myself. Although...I'd probably go with a subtle ghost flames on the side and hood.

A little update on the project car. Made a few more decisions on parts/products and have started picking things up as I can. Got the differential locally. Its getting 3.08 gears, Strange 31 spline axles, Strange c-clip eliminators, and an Eaton Truetrac limited slip. Here it is before we cut it up a bit last week. :)

The transmission is a Dodge A518. Here it is after an hour of cleaning, but still all dirty from the junkyard. Its getting completely overhauled and upgraded to handle 600 ft/lbs from the HEMI.

Decided on using a 12 volt power brake system from these guys:
http://www.abspowerbrake.com/ehpm.html
The kit's wiring system will be put aside and we'll be using the ISIS multiplex/CAN BUS system. http://www.isispower.com/products.html?ProductID=ISIS3BOXZ
I've also been doing a lot of research on making the gen 3 HEMI work in transplant situations and have come across a few trick little Mopar items that make the swap much easier.
