It’s been rumored for what seems like several years now, but it appears as though we finally have a concrete date for Chevrolet’s upcoming Camaro Z28. Unlike previous Camaro models, the Z28 will hail as the range’s top offering.
According to Camaro5.com, the Camaro Z28 will officially begin production on January 1, 2012. Given that date, expect the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 to debut in late 2011 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
GM sources previously confirmed the Z28′s not-so-well-kept secret existence. Using what information we could dig up, we had our illustrator put together a mock-up Camaro Z28 featuring all of the styling modifications we expect to see.
The aggressive front fascia and unique hood are believed to be almost spot-on, while our latest illustration shows one of several expected wheel options for this top-of-the-line Camaro.
Grunt, grunt, grunt
Remember the 1996 Chevrolet commercial when two young boys were playing a game from their second story window, one boy watching cars drive by with a pair of binoculars, and the other would name the make, model and year from nothing but hearing the exhaust note alone?
