They look nice Curtis, but I have to say I like the factory M6 wheels. They'd looked good chromed or polished.

Steve & Chad,

Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm just looking for something to customize the car and make it a little more unique without making it too boy racer looking. I like the carbon fibre spoiler, but since it is my daily driver, clearance in the snow would be an issue. I'm not a big fan of the rear diffuser that is available. I could put some money in the engine but really only looking to improve the breathing a little and do the dinan tune which just increases the rev limiter to 8400 from 8,250 stock. It also removes the speed limiter. It is done by the dealership and is subsequently covered by warranty. Aside from that, I don't really wanna get caught up in modding this thing as we all know, it can get out of control.

Oh btw, I met a nice guy at the gym and he has a 2008 M6 cabriolet. Same color with the carbon fibre trim. Very nice. He traded in a 911 turbo because it was too crampy in the cabin. Liked the daily driver appeal of the m6. Nice guy

Curtis, a couple thoughts man.....
Number one, STOP posting pics of high-end euro rides with suspension and forged wheels!!! That is my only other automotive passion, other than American muscle. And when you post pics like those, it makes me want to go to the local dealership and shop. And my wife will let me buy an M6 or M5 or E63 all day long. But I can't bring myself to let go of the Charger!!!! So STOP tempting me you sunnuvabitch.......
Number two. Get the 360 wheels. Nobody can touch those guys right now, some of the best wheels I've ever seen bro!!! If you got the funds available, DO IT. And do it soon, before you change your mind. I don't think those make your ride look "ricer" or "racer" at all man, not even close. Very, very tasteful buddy. Can you PM me the price you're getting quoted on these bad boys, and from where? If you don't mind?

Hey Curtis.....
If you don't mind, I'd like your honest opinion. And you can shoot me a PM if you prefer. I'd like to know what your feelings are coming from a "ballzy" Mopar, into your new M6. If you recall, earlier this year (pre-426) I debated on trading the Charger AND Jeep for an E63 Benz. Obviously I decided to stay Mopar. But I'd like to hear your thoughts and feelings on what the swap has been like......What do you miss? What are you happy about? etc, etc. Whenever you get time man. I'm off to spend some quality time with my wife, so I won't be back on til later tonite or tomorrow afternoon. Thanks pal. And good to see you posting!!!! Glad you are happy and healthy!!!! :)

Markus, no I did not. I am glad cause it would never have made it through the snow we had this year. I was selective on the days i took it out. No scratches but constantly worrying.

Thanks. More pics for you and Chase (sorry man)

Gotta say Cman, I love the stockers a lot...but those wheels are definitely sex. Absolutely can't go wrong on how they'd look and perform for their weight. Less rotational mass=better performance. Sweet.

Thanks Milan and Mr. S,

At this point I am not sure what they cost. I will be finding out next week when I get a quote. I would venture to say around 8m. I heard another member quote of 8m on
22s.
I am looking at the 19s which would be stock size. Probably not much of a diff.

Heres what I'm wrestling with:

I like the stock rims but wish they were wider. Running 285/19s

I worry about the lips on the 360s puddling water/brake rust after a wash.
My vellanos did this and it drove me crazy. Every time I washed it, I had to re-clean the lips.

Really wanna run slightly wider rear tires. My choices are limited with 19s

One option that I'm not sure if you've considered and for a lot less coin is to get your factory rims widened. Because it's your DD, this may be an impractical choice. But weldcraft in Michigan has been doing it for some time on all kinds of vehicles including a lot of 9 second cars. http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/

The way they do it is awesome...then you can run a nice wiiiide tire.

I AGREE 100% ON the factory m6 wheels. they look great and they look even better chromed. THE 360 forged ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE LIP OF THE RIM CRACKING AND COMING APART from what i have seen on other forums.

You can get them widened. I'm getting a set done right now by James at Weld Craft wheels. I plan on using them for DR's. Keep in mind they can only widen to the inside.

Chase,

I was wanting to stay with the 19s. I figured the car would handle better with 19s vs 20s. I know with my limited skills, the diff would be negligible.

curtis, like all above have stated, widening the wheel is def a choice. imho, the stock wheels are sick, but i know that you like to be diff (just like the rest of us fools) and you cant go wrong with 360. they make an awesome wheel and the ones you have chosen are simple yet race inspired. i like them a lot.

Ok,

I just off the phone with Wheels performance out of miami and here is what they quoted

Stock ride height
20/9 with 2 1/2 lip front
20/10.5 with 4 inch lip rear
carbon fibre center chrome lip

$6,400 6-8 weeks to build
50% down and remainder when shipped.

recommended 255/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear

I thought the rears would be larger as the stock rear rims are 9.5 and I am running continental conti sport contact 2 285/35/zr19
The diameter on the stock rubber is 26.9
overall section width/rim 11.4/10.0
Approved rim 9-11
rev 776

My guess of $8,000 was spot on including shoes

Can someone help me pick the right tires for this application?

a few from what i hear. if your ride wasnt designed for it, you may need to re-adjust your susp. i dont know about bimmers but supposedly the new mercs have their computers set for adjustments to be made on the fly.

of course your front lip will be lower, so parking and driving into parking lots will suffer.

I love Steve's idea. And I think if you stick with the same overall ride height (keep the sidewall ratios correct), it won't be an issue. But I'm glad you're entertaining the idea of 20's though, I think it's a smart move. I'm gonna look for some tires now Curty-wurty........
