High Performance 5.7 Liter V-10 Engine
For those seeking the ultimate high performance driving experience, Dinan has once again redefined M5 and M6 performance with a bored and stroked 5.7 liter version of BMW’s V-10 engine. The engine produces over 600 horsepower along with stump-pulling torque that exceeds 400 lb-ft from just 3000 rpm right to the rev-limit at 8100 rpm. As incredible as BMW’s V-10 is in stock form, just imagine the acceleration that results from an additional 126 horsepower @ 5800 rpm and 116 lb-ft torque @ 5600 rpm*! Equally impressive is the fact that all of this performance is available without sacrificing BMW-like drivability or the peace of mind that comes from matching new car warranty coverage for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles.

Dinan’s 29 years of BMW tuning and racing experience ensure that the engines will not only perform but also provide years of trouble free driving excitement. Much of the technology that has made Dinan’s Grand-Am Daytona Prototype engines both competitive and reliable has carried over to the 5.7 Liter V-10 engine program for the street, ensuring that the engines produce incredible power along with race-proven durability. Each engine is dyno-tested prior to shipment, verifying power output in the same rigorous manner employed for the Daytona Prototype racing engines.

The engine is supplied as an assembled long-block, fully prepared to directly replace the stock engine without modification. Maximum performance is achieved when the engine is equipped with the optional High Flow Air Mass Meter Assemblies, High Flow Throttle Bodies and Free Flow Mufflers, producing an incredible 611 hp @ 7500 rpm and 468 lb-ft torque @ 6000 rpm. For those seeking ultimate performance from their M5 or M6, without sacrificing civility, reliability or warranty coverage, the Dinan 5.7 Liter V-10 is the definitive solution.

wonder how it did vs the 911 from a start

Here what autoweek had to say:

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

It’s done. We finally found a car beastly enough to best the Porsche Carrera GT off the line—and surprise, it’s another Porsche. Not just any Porsche, mind you, but the perennial king of the (non-exotics) hill, the 911 Turbo, this time around in 997 guise.

We first sampled the 997 Turbo in Germany in the spring, at which point Porsche insisted the Tiptronic-equipped car was capable of running from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, or three-tenths quicker than with the six-speed manual. So when time came to flog the car at the test track, we reluctantly opted for the Tip—and promptly set an AutoFile record. Where the former AutoFile champion Carrera GT reached 60 mph in 3.5-seconds flat, the Turbo needed just 3.38 seconds, better even than Porsche claimed.

Of course, not long after leaving the line, the $440,000 Carrera GT supercar runs away, with split times from 20 to 40, 40 to 60 and 60 to 80 mph of 1.1, 1.3 and 1.4 seconds, respectively. The Turbo, by comparison, quickly drops off, at 1.2, 1.8 and 2.5 seconds accordingly. By the time the Carrera GT reaches the quarter-mile sticks, it has eaten just 11.35 seconds. The Turbo, on the other hand, needs 12.08 seconds in that distance, but that’s good enough to slot it comfortably into fourth place behind the 12.01-second Porsche GT2 and 12.06-second Ford GT through the quarter-mile.

I must emphasize, the 911 turo is more than a straight line car!

Nice vid C, question ... why don't you hear the Porsch engine at all in that vid? The M sounds sweet and you can hear it good but going balls out I'd expect to hear the Porsch 6 too, a little bit at least. Was he maybe not fully on it?? I'm not trying to start anything but ...

Scott,

Oh ya, you'd never start anything. LOL

To answer your question, I don't know. Perhaps the Porsche had stock exhaust or maybe what you heard was the porsche. IDK

No C, no troublemaker here, haha, you know I love ya!!!!!!! I was just wondering, I've seen enough of these vids to know a lot of them are staged ... being INSIDE the Porsch at a minimum you should have been able to hear a little bit of it's motor (and yea I know the M was out front and you got a good earful of it's exhaust ... which was WAY sweet btw!!)
