Discuss what you do...is it Sweatin' with the Oldies, Weights, and Cardio, yoga? Did it work for ya? In the past, I've done weights in a split program usually 3 days on and one off followed by 30-45 minutes of cardio. I'm sick of that shit. This time around, I'll be incorporating more core body exercises that utilize compound movements more and with little to no focus on anything that supposedly "isolates" the muscle. For cardio, I'm going on a 3 month tantric sex binge. Wife doesn't know about that one yet. I'll take my rest days for about 4 or 5 consecutive days a month. :pounding table:

milan, if you do that much cardio you actually begin eating your muscle, ESPECIALLY if you do it post workout. try keeping your heart rate around 160 for no more then 15mins. talk to ricky, he does that crossfit stuff. that stuff is all total body and muscular confusion..thats if your looking for the mens fitness look. if you want the manimal look, i can help you out. all depends on what you want. dont forget your diet. people overlook that but diet is a good 90% of it. if you eat like shit, your gains are going to be painfully slow. youd be extremely surprised at how well youll do and how well youll feel with a good diet, and im not talking zero calorie soda and fat free salad dressing, im talking carb loading, red meats, tons of vegetables, lots of solid proteins

I don't do anything crazy in the gym anymore...gettin' do damn old!!!! I'll workout twice a week and do a combo of free weights, nautilus machines and then do a half-hour of cardio on one of those eliptical machines where you use your whole body(the one with the arms on it). That's it, as far as the gym goes. Along with that, I drink 3-4 bottles of water a day(usually with Cystal light in it) and try and eat smaller portions. This is how I lost 30 lbs. The key for me was the cardio(which I never used to do) and cutting out soda and drinking the water. I do like the sex idea though!!!! Tell the wife its for your health!!!LOL

It's one of the best things you can do for fitness....you know why? Because you like it and will probably stick to it over the long haul.

I was looking at the crossfit website and it's freakin' confusing as to what it actually is. Looks almost like a series of Strongman exercises and if this is the case, I'd almost surely stroke out and blow a nut at the same time. The cardio that I did in the past was moderate and sucked, but in the end, worked because of the amount of calories I burned. I am looking for a better way because I couldnt' stand it.The diet you speak of is something I did for over ten years with one catch...I hated eating the vegetables. I know..bad. But I switched things up and cycled higher carb days with lower carb day consuming at least a gram of protein per lb of bodyweight every day.

Go to your family doctor and get a health write-up stating that you need to bang her for 90 days and get rid of the poisons. That should work...Hehehehehe

Ah yes, my Doc should hook me up with that. Sometimes he has a fellow chick doc in the house when he's on VK at which point she may not allow for such a note. I will then proceed to tonsil slap her with the Serbian salami.

Limit the binge drinkin'...
Seriously, as soon as I start limiting my evening wine intake, the program just falls into place.
3 days a week semi-elipitcal trainer, 60 mins a shot. I hate any other cardio machine - all my music has to be 128 bpm or higher), in combination with various upper & lower body strength/core excercises.
2 days per wheel spinning and body pump classes (some of the chicks in attendence are so effin' motivating!).
1 day off (pile drive wife or other available woman for 1 hour if given the option).
BTW, I was only able to put a proper program together, doing the excercises properly (which is key) after hiring an intense & somewhat overpriced personal trainer. Spend $ 2,000 - $3,000 Milan on one, well worth it IMO.

Unfortunately Joe, I have all the know how. The problem for me is burnout. I have to enjoy doing it to last longer than 6 months. I've been in and out of the gym now for literally 20 years...and I'm 36 lol.

Well shit, then, you need a motivational tool!
You and your wife should give swinging a try! You'd HAVE to keep fit to keep up with all the hunnies!!! I swear to God the only couples we know that are truly happily married, fit and and enjoying life "play"!
Oops, sorry for the preachin'...

Yo, HEMI!
It all looks good. However, for my wife and I (She's a cop too), simple is the key. We work out everyday, but do overall body shit. We use free weights, a bowflex, and a leg press machine. Then we run, get back home and do pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, etc. We concentrate on hitting every part of our bodies. Plus, we have a TV in our gym, so that passes the time...
Good luck!

Hmmmm.....I didn't see the sauce mentioned anywhere in there! I think there's something you need to tell Milan on how to get the "buff" look! LOL
Seriously though, if everyone worked out I would say that "crossfit" is by far the most complete form of fitness that you can do without training like a professional athlete for hours a day. That being said, the best workout is the one "that you will do consistently" Gym Jones is another program not for the faint of heart that a lot of fellow frogmen I know do and are in pronominal shape. http://www.gymjones.com/
Oh....and a quote from there site that "stay puff marshmallow" men Markus and Curtis will appreciate: "The objective is genuine fitness, not the appearance of fitness."
J/K....you know I love you sauce buckets!!! LOL

This is an older thread but it still pertinent.
I hit the gym 4 to 5 days a week (Mon, Wed, Thursday, Sat and sometimes Sunday). I actually do the SPIN classes (Cycling), loud music and sweat my ass off. I got so addicted to it, I went and bought a Road Bike as well to hang out with them on various outtings. And I can't wait to do it either.
I have lost somewhere around 35lbs or more. I try and eat as well as I can. (egg whites, oatmeal, veggies, lean meat) I will be buying to Vanilla flavored Designer Whey protein to make some protein shakes too so I can keep the carbs out but the protein high.
I will be incorporating some weight training too because I just can't keep doing that. Plus the more muscle less body fat you have the better your metabolic rate is etc...
Don't lose focus, just take some steps and little goals and pretty soon all those little goals will end up being a massive big goal!

Monday - chest full rage upper mid lower, abs
Tuesday - back, abs
Wednesday - Legs, quads and calfs or hammys and calfs I alternate weeks on them, abs
Thursday - shoulder, f & r delts, shrugs the whole 9 yards my best body part so I beat on it, abs
Friday - off or arms, abs or this workout may be done on saturday depends how my body feels.
Now I will usually switch the routines around and move the days off around but you get the idea.
200Ibs 8% body fat, I work baby. I do abs everyday. Yes im a gym rat. I also mountain bike and I get ALOT of cardio done at work so it is almost non existant in the gym as I am trying to add mass so cardio is the enemy right now.
Dont get me started on protein and mass building shakes and food that is another topic all together.

I stationary bike 20+ miles a day, 5 days a week for cardio, as well as the occasional pick up game of basketball, hit the heavy weights (bench, squats, curl, etc...) 3 days a week and work legs 2-3 days a week. Stomach work is also 3-5 days a week, depending on schedual. Been doing this for over a year and a half, lost approx 70lbs and gained some muscle weight, but at age 34, it's a constant battle, gotta stay with it or it wins. Some of the best things you can do are free, like pull ups, crunches, and push ups. You'd be surpised at how many people can't do more than 3 pull ups or 10 push ups. When working out with heavy weights (like bench pressing) do 85-90% of your max 3 sets of 6 to build muscle. Your max should be in the 3-4 rep range, people who "max" with just one rep is under delusion. For every 3,000 cal. you burn throughout one week, while maintaining the normal caloric intake, you'll lose 1 lb of fat, as long as you stay away from high fat foods. Burn 3,000 at the gym and cut 3,000 cals off your meals for the week (not too difficult) and you'll drop 2 lbs a week. Weight lifting will give you "long term " cal burning while cardio only burns while your doing it. My daily cal intake is approx 2,000 -2,500 cals. Hope this helps and good luck!
